Top 5 Forgotten Sneaker Brands Part 2!
#5 Troop
Born in the Bronx during the Golden Age of Hip-Hop, World Of Troop launched in 1985 and instantly made their mark on the history of urban fashion. and was targeted towards Latino and African – American urban culture and founded by 2 jewish brothers and a Korean.
Troop jacket and Troop sneaker releases. LL Cool J, MC Hammer, Ultramagnetic MCs, Stetsasonic, Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Flava Flav, all rocked with TROOP
Troop went Bankrupt soon after rumors spread that the company was actually owned by the KKK (TeddyHeld). Troop was rumored to stand for – To Rule Over Oppressed People.
But the owner said TROOP stood for - Total Respect Of Oppressed People
Rumors said there were hidden messages under the soles and lining.
LL Cool J went on Oprah and urged viewers to protest the company, even tore his jacket up. The rumors were false, but sales were ruined in the US which made about 80 million in total. In the 90s however Troop was still around in Europe.
Nelly actually obtained the TROOP apparel license in 2014.
And in 2015 they had a relaunch of retro tees, jackets and footwear.

#4 DC
This company was founded in 1994 by Damon Way and Ken Block and based in sunny California. DC stood for “Droors Clothing” and DC no longer has ties to Droors, so its just DC Shoes. DC is identified as a skateboarding and action sports sneaker brand and featured skate teams and many sponsored athletes Danny Way and Colin McKay
Included in that was Rob Dyrdrek until 2016 from the Rob and Big show He produced 29 signature sneakers since 1995..
At the root, DC made a great performance skate shoe, Incorporating progressive technologies like SUPER SUEDE™, IMPACT-I™, and SUPER RUBBER™. And DC also made its way onto the feet of some lifestyle sneakers at its peak.
In 2009 DC was bought out by Quicksilver for 87 million.

#3 Pony
Founded in 1972 by Roberto Mueller, Pony was a Product of New York, as it proudly states.
In the mid 1980s Pony had champion caliber athletes in many different sports and had a sales volume of $800 million!
Some of the athletes that wore Pony: Muhammad Ali, Bob Mcaddo, Reggie Jackson, Lawrence Taylor.
Spud Webb rocked Pony City Wings in the 1986 NBA dunk contest, which he won. The City Wings was heavily influenced by the AJ1
The brand was sold to a LA firm in 2001 and they relaunched the brand.

In 2004 Snoop dogg had a collab with Pony

#2 KSwiss
Founded in 1966 in LA Cali by 2 swiss brother Art and Ernie Brunner. What does K Swiss mean? Rumored to stand for Kalifornia, slang for Cali n the 60s.. “I wear my K Swiss” was the motto that ran for 5 years. And in 2005, global sales passed $500 Million
In 2007 Anna Kournikova was featured in the shoes to help rebrand to a modern female audience.
In 2011 Kenny Powers was reported to have bought 51% of KSwiss Stock…. He isn’t real.. tho, it was an epic show tho (East Bound and Down)!

#1 British Knights
BK was launched in 1983 as a casual sneaker company, which exploded in 1985. Was recognized more for fashion that performance originally. “The shoe aint nothing without a BK Button”
1990 they signed MC Hammer the biggest star in music at the time, BK sponsored his tours and a lot of mainstream attention was brought to BK.
In 1991 the Dymacel technology was introduced for sports and they had Derrick Coleman of the Nets (#1 Draft pick in 1990 and Rookie of the yr in 1991) Dymacel had moderate success
BK got a bad rap since it had heavy gang affiliation due to BK misrepresented as “Blood Killer”, and rival gang of the Crips. Schools and universities banned the shoes to help stop gang violence.
In 2014 the company relaunched and tried to like a spark with a new generation of consumers, but as we know, competition is rough now a days, and we haven’t seen much movement from the brand.

Scientists Finally Discovered the Truth About Easter Island

We all know that the easter island heads have bodies – that’s not a mystery at all. But how did the easter island population build hundreds of statues? Scientists have recently solved this mystery and discovered where these people disappeared to and why.

For many decades, people's minds have been occupied with the mystery of Easter Island. A remote piece of volcanic soil, far away in the Pacific Ocean... But our planet hosts thousands of such lonely islands, what is so particular about this one?
The mystery is concealed not in the island itself but giant stone statues covering it. Who created the world-famous huge stone heads? Did they serve any specific purpose? Where did their creators arrive from and where did they disappear?
Well, it seems the answer is finally just around the corner!

Amazing facts about Easter Island 2:18
How have the statues been moved around the island? 5:25
How could create Easter Island monuments? 7:24
What happened to people on Easter Island? 8:09

SUMMARY
- Where is Easter Island located?
Rapa Nui (which is the name given to Easter Island by its first inhabitants) is the territory of Chile and is situated in the southern Pacific Ocean. And it is so, so far that you can easily consider it one of the most distant places on the world's map. It lies 1,200 miles away from Pitcairn, which is its closest neighbor.

- What's the main secret of the statues?
Most statues (834 out of 887) were carved from the material called tuff which is, in fact, compressed volcanic ash. Curiously, all the statues except one group face inland. It means their backs are turned to the ocean. Perhaps the reason for that was the belief that the statues were the protectors of the villagers that's why they overlooked the settlement. The only statues not fitting into this pattern can be found at Ahu Akivi, a sacred place for the people of Rapa Nui.

- Theories about how the statues had been moved.
One of the most popular ones among the lovers of mysteries was the belief that the statues had been created and moved by aliens. But even if you like this theory, we are sorry to debunk it. The stone the statues were built from originates from the island itself. The birthplace of most of the material was an extinct volcano situated in the north-east of Easter Island and not another planet.

- A new study about the island.
A new study has been conducted recently to specify the maximum number of the inhabitants in the heyday of the island's civilization.
The results arrived, and they were quite unexpected. It turned out that as many as 17 and a half thousand people could comfortably live on the island. At least 19 percent of the land could be covered with the fields of sweet potatoes that used to be the main source of food for the population. What is more, the islanders consumed quite a lot of seafood and fish.

- Why did people on Easter Island disappear?
At first, it was believed that the reason for such a decrease of the population was an ecocide. The natives cut out large forests and palm trees making spare room for moving the statues around as well as agriculture. They thought the trees were going to grow back fast enough. It was a misleading concept. The deterioration of the environment resulted in hunger. And this, in turn, led to wars and cannibalism.
Nowadays, however, such a theory has been proven wrong. First of all, Rapa Nui inhabitants seemed to be very talented agricultural engineers. They deliberately fertilized the fields with the volcanic rock. In fact, another research has shown that people had been living on the island for many centuries. And the population only started to decrease when Europeans began visiting.

***********************************************************************

Things you use on a regular basis often have hidden or secret features that you aren't even aware of. And these are exactly the types of things that can make your life so much easier, so it's time to take notice and take advantage.

1. Tic Tac Container

Are you sick of tipping the tic tac container into your hand, not knowing if you'll wind up with 0 or 10 tic tacs? The solution is right in the container itself! The lid has a tic tac holder built right into it, so next time you want to freshen your breath, open the container as shown in the video to get a perfect portion without all the hassle.

2. Box Cutter

If the blade on your box cutter just doesn't cut it anymore, there's an easy and safe way to access the next blade. First push the button on top to pull off the cap. Then use the cap to snap off and safely discard the dull blade. Use the side slider to push the next blade up, and you're ready to slice and dice.

3. Needle & Thread

A sewing needle and thread go together like peanut butter and jelly, yet somehow, the two always manage to get separated. Some people will just stick the needle directly into the spool, but that can be a risky move, given how sharp the needle can be. To play it safe, all you have to do is slide out the bottom part of the thread spool. The foot of the spool is actually designed to hold multiple sewing needles! Press the needle in place, slide the bottom portion back into the spool, and you can call it a day.

4. Coffee Mug

Have you ever wondered why some coffee mugs have curved notches on the bottom? It's to make your life easier! The next time you wash your favorite mug, put it against the rack at an angle in the dishwasher. This will ensure that water doesn't pool in the crevice of the mug during the cleaning cycle, meaning your cup will be fully dry by the time you empty the dishwasher.

5. Takeout Box

You may think takeout boxes are convenient because you can eat right out of them after transporting your delicious meal home. But that's not actually the selling point – you can turn the boxes into a plate! First remove the handle from the packaging. Then the box easily unfolds into a flat plate.

6. Stapler

Everyone who has ever mistakenly stapled a document knows the pain of trying to remove one of those suckers. They literally sink their claws into the paper! But you'll actually find the solution to this annoying problem in the stapler itself. Just rotate the round metal part at the front of the stapler. If you turn this piece 180 degrees, the staple ends will face outwards from here on out. The staple holds just as well as when it faces inwards, but now it'll be so much easier to remove in case you goof up.

7. Toblerone Bar

We're sorry to announce that you have been doing this wrong your entire life. Instead of snapping the sections out, you're supposed to snap them in. Place your thumb on the outer section and push in towards the rest of the bar – this will ensure that the piece snaps off faster and easier, meaning no more melted chocolate on your fingers.

8. Disposable Ballpoint Pen

Have you ever wondered why there's a hole in some pens? Well, the answer is simple: it's a ventilation system that lets the ink flow to the tip of the pen.

9. Tape Measure

Even a standard tape measure raises questions, because just what exactly is up with that small, rectangular hole in the middle of the metal hook? When you're working alone and desperately need an extra pair of hands to measure something, put a temporary screw in the place you want to measure from, hook the hole over the screw, and measure as per usual. The hole will hold the screw in place, thus eliminating the need for outside help.

10. Coat Button

Everyone knows the frustration that is a bag strap slipping off your shoulder. Luckily there's a quick fix for that! Some jackets have a tab on the shoulder that can be opened and closed with a button – perfect for holding your purse in place.

11. Tennis Shoes

Sneakers are usually equipped with an extra hole near the top, which seems unnecessary at first glance. However, if you thread the laces through the extra hole, you can can tighten the fit. This not only creates a better grip, but it also prevents painful blisters from forming.

It's amazing how easily these super handy features are overlooked, even though they're actually pretty obvious once you discover them. Your day is already looking up!

My Watch Collection – The One That Almost Got Away

Today we're gonna be doing a watch collection update. Now this particular watch has a story behind it and I believe it's one of the most overlooked Rolexes in the collection.

And that watch is the GMT Pepsi in white gold.

Alright, so the GMT 116719 is one of those models that I feel is just kind of been overlooked. I just feel like not a lot people buy them. I guess cuz they want, you know, I guess they want a yellow gold watch already for that price, but the thing about it is is that I find it so rare and unique. I definitely like it better than the white gold Sub and now with this whole Pepsi with the jubilee. I don't know. I don't really care much about the jubilee guys. I rather have it on a vintage model. But now with the whole up prices of the jubilee where they're already almost like 20 grand, I feel like it's gotten a lot of importance to that white gold GMT.

Now, if you didn't know, it's discontinued in the black dial. They're not gonna make it anymore. Then they came out with the blue dial, which was a run of pretty much one year. Whatever!

That one the flames, the whole force is burning on that one because they're quote on quote going for forty thousand. I don't really see it, but whatever.

So which leads me to the story of this GMT. This particular GMT that I have here is gonna be the third time that I buy this exact watch.

And it's a pretty cool story and I'm gonna share it with you.

So right off the back, I've always kind of liked this watch. It's always been one of those watches that I said that I want to keep for the permanent collection and what happened was that I had a client and a really good friend of mine. This guy's really sick into watches, OK?

He comes in one day and he does a trade-in with me and he wants to trade it because he was sacrificing several pieces for one of those 40th anniversary Nautiluses.

So I took it in on trade. He had bought it brand new. His name is on the card and he kind of needed a premium for it just because we were trying to bridge a gap of such a large number.

I couldn't really get too many people to stock it at that moment because the whole craze hadn't really happened yet and I took a risk and I said, you know what, I'll buy it.

I'll stock it. At that moment I wasn't really sure if I was gonna keep it for the collection or perhaps maybe just flip the watch, so I took a chance on it and I bought it. What happens was that I ended up wearing the watch a bit at the store, never putting it for sale, never polishing or nothing, right?

And then I have another really good friend of mine which is probably one of my also biggest clients comes in and says, “What's up with that white gold Pepsi? I want it!” I said, “Man, look, I don't yet if I really want to sell it,” but he's a good guy to sell it to, so I said, “You know what? Just take the watch.” We hammered out a price and we closed the deal.

So the watch was done. It went from one good client and friend to another good client and friend. He enjoyed the heck out of that watch, OK, because he's one of those guys that really can appreciate the model.

So we fast-forward to not too long ago. The watch comes back again. Again!

The piece has to be sacrificed and it's on the chopping block because this time, this other guy wants to make a move and go for a blue face 5980 in steel.

Again he needs a premium for it and says, “I think the watches went up a little bit,” and I said, “You know what? I'll more than happily take the watch back again.”

Second time I buy the watch. I get it back again.

This time, I'm wearing the watch for only three days and I go have lunch with a friend of mine, another friend, but this is actually a very long term friend. He was a friend before even a client, OK?

And then he says the watch and he goes, “I want it.” I said, “Listen, it's not for sale. I think I'm gonna keep it this time, you know.” “Oh common! I want it! I want it! I want it!” I said, “Man, it's not for sale.” So he says, “Eric, sell me the watch. I want it today,” and I said, “Look, I'm gonna give it to you at this price, but the only way that I'm gonna sell you this watch is with the contingency that you have to sell it back to me, alright?”

So we shook on it. We had a deal and before I knew it, my best friend swindles me out of the watch again! The third time!

So I'm like, alright! Fast-forward....

- Construction sites are inherently dangerous places. That fairly small extra risk, however, brings with it almost double the pay: $62,980 per year on average for supervisors, versus $33,430 for general laborers.
- If dark places and tight spaces don’t freak you out, you can become a mining roof bolter. At the top end of the mining machine operator pay scale, they make an average of $54,320 per year to operate the machinery that helps prop up underground mines.

- In reality, the day-to-day life of a police officer probably isn’t as dramatic as they depict it on TV, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t really dangerous! $59,680 was the average annual salary in 2016.
- According to the Alaska Fishing Employment center, crewmen can bring home between $20,000 - 50,000 during a three-month season. Those surveyed by CNN in 2012 said they made about $100,000 a year!

FREE EBOOK:

While many men will consider or purchase a new wristwatch based solely on the looks of its exterior, the true connoisseur will give equal attention to its internal mechanisms. Such internal workings are collectively referred to as the movement or caliber of a wristwatch and they're the subject of today's video.

The movement drives the hands on the face of a wristwatch and also powers its other features, known in the trade as complications. These would include such things as the calendar, chronograph, or alternate time zones.

There are two overall categories and three individual types of watch movements. The two categories are mechanical and quartz and within the mechanical category, the two individual types there are manual and automatic.

MANUAL MOVEMENT

A manual movement, also frequently referred to as a hand-wound movement, is the oldest type of watch movement made. It dates back to the 16th century. Most manual movements will need daily winding in order to keep time accurately but some higher-end models can store energy efficiently enough to only need winding every few days. Some watches will feature a complication known as a power reserve indicator which tells the wearer how long they can go before they actually need to wind the watch again. With this said though, men who prefer to wear manual movement watches generally get into the habit of winding them daily often at a set time, usually before they go to bed, for example. Because manual movements are the most traditional type of movement available, they're typically found in conservatively styled expensive and collectible watch models.

Here are some important aspects to consider when purchasing a manual movement watch. First of all, you will need to get into the habit of winding your watch regularly. If you don't do this, the watch will wind down and it won't keep time accurately. With that said though, if a manual watch is wound too tightly or wound at an improper angle, say for example, if you try to wind it while it's already on your wrist, this can do damage to the
movement over time.

AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT

Along with manual movement watches, the other type of mechanical movement is the automatic movement, also known as the self-winding movement. This type debuted in the early 20th century. An automatic movement harnesses kinetic energy from the natural motion of the wearer's wrist. In other words, moving your arm around while you're wearing the watch throughout the
day will wind the mainspring. How is this accomplished then? It's because an automatic movement contains all of the components we covered earlier plus an additional component that's referred to as the rotor. This is most often a semi circular metal weight that can swing freely 360 degrees as the wrist moves. The rotor is connected by another series of gears to the mainspring which gets wound as the rotor swings. From there, the mechanisms of the automatic movement are the same as the manual and yes, it can also be wound from the crown, if you so choose.

QUARTZ MOVEMENT

The final type of movement we'll discuss today is the quartz movement, also known as a battery-powered movement. It was introduced to the public by the Seiko corporation in 1969. Unlike the mechanical movements we just covered, the inner workings of a quartz movement are made up by very different components. Firstly, the power source of a quartz movement is a battery. It takes the place of a mainspring. A watch battery will typically last between one and two years at which time it should be promptly replaced to prevent any leakage of battery acid. Next up is the integrated circuit which carries the electrical charge from the battery to the quartz crystal and from the crystal to the stepping motor. The quartz crystal acts in a similar fashion to the escapement on a mechanical watch. Quartz vibrates when electricity is applied to it and this generates voltage. The stepping motor transforms the electrical impulses into mechanical power and the dial train functions just like the dial train that's found on a mechanical movement.

So then, that's our overview of the three different types of watch movements. We'd like to know what were you most surprised by in today's video?

Watches to Buy With Colorful Dials (Yellow, Green, Red, Orange & More)

If I have to describe my style, I would definitely say that I lean more towards being more conservative. I think it is important to master timeless style first before you venture into the world of more eye-catching designs, that said, I think adding something that makes a bit of statement or is simply more fun, is appropriate in a lot of places.

There many early signs of autism and parents actually sometimes have a gut on it, but things that we know about are eye contact, you know, not monitoring the back and forth that a child would otherwise do and that is picked up very early. Babbling behavior and cooing sounds which are very early can also be repetitive.

I've had children sometimes having difficulty with motor imitation and that's one of the things that is talked about in the Literature. I've had children being repetitive even with the play. A child has been fascinated with the rattling and repetitively play with that.

You can have a child with sensory sensitivity, wanting to be held too much and not wanting to be held. Having a preference for constantly wanting to be rocked, for example. These are little concerns and parents can pick up on or have a gut on these things sometimes and they minimize it. So I think it's important to look at language, communication, and it could be verbal, non-verbal with social referencing, following, laughing.

The verbal value is very important, and this gaze-monitoring which you see a little child do. They monitor their mother's eyes. There's a back and forth. There's the alertness and interest in the other that seems to be missing or not adequately develop.

Not responding to their name when they're called, most kids should do that by eight to nine months of age. And when you find that happening, it is of concern. That is one of the earliest signs that need to be addressed and mention to your pediatrician.

One of the early signs that is commonly seen and is of concern is this lack of joint attention, which means we're both looking at something together. When you point toward something, a child will point to at something and look at you for you to understand. So there's that communication piece that seems to be missing. Children are often just reaching out for what they want.

And that's the way they communicate or they don't point with their index finger. There sometimes just lots of crying and no verbal communication.

So these are concerns that you have a social referencing or that lack of connection is something that parents pick up on and I think is definitely one of the earliest signs that needs to be concerned about.

The PERFECT Shoulder Workout (Sets and Reps Included)

The perfect shoulder workout should consist of exercises for your front delts, middle delts and rear delts (not necessarily in that order!). That said, even that doesn’t make the shoulder workout complete. In order to round out your shoulders with a well rounded workout you need to fill in the gaps of what is lacking on those popular shoulder exercises. That is what we do in this video.

If you look at the four main exercises that people do in their shoulders workout you will see barbell or dumbbell overhead press, side lateral raises, front delt raises and maybe even dips. Take a close look into each of these classic movements and you will see one thing in common. That is, each of these exercises is lacking either a stretch position of the shoulder or doesn’t take the muscle through it’s full available range of motion.

This is a problem when it comes to developing a complete set of impressive shoulders. Just because you are going through a full range of motion on the exercises that you are doing it does not mean that you are taking a muscle through its full range of motion. For instance, all shoulder exercises are performed by changing the angle of the arm at the shoulder. Because the shoulder is a three dimensional ball and socket joint, you have a great deal of motion available to you on your shoulder exercises.

That said, we often overlook the fact that the shoulder joint is not just this ball and socket. Because the socket is technically the shoulder blade, you have to consider all of the other muscles that are connected to these bones that then play an important role in shoulder training. Not just that, but hypertophy should never be the only goal of your shoulder workouts. In order to be complete like an athlete you are going to have to incorporate some movements that train the explosiveness of the entire shoulder girdle and let you train all of these muscles together.

The solution to this problem is to not forego the popular mass building shoulder exercises or even the lighter ones geared at mass but add to them, and overlook no element of complete training. Here is how to construct the perfect shoulder workout with that in mind.

Warmup with Overhead Banded Press - 2 sets of 15 with 3 second holds each rep.

OHP or Handstand pushups - 4 sets of 12,8,6,6 reps
Finish with one set of dumbbell and band overhead presses for neuromuscular re-education x 15 reps

Delt Stretch Tri-Set (21’s) - 2-3 sets of 7 reps in each direction for rear, middle and front delts
Make sure you perform these in the order of rear to front to account for fatigue.

DB Cheat Laterals - 3 sets to failure on each arm
Immediately into a DB Push Press to failure on each arm

Cable or Banded Face Pulls - 3 sets of 15
Perform these with a mindset of 15 sets of 1 to ensure highest quality of every rep.

When you put this together in the format as I’m suggesting here, you not only now hit the shoulders through their full range of motion but you hit every area of the shoulders as well. The drop down allows for the lesser intense exercise to be more taxing since it was just preceded by a more difficult compound lift.

This is just one example of how to apply science to your shoulder workouts. If you want to train like an athlete you want to put science back in every workout you do. You can do that with the ATHLEAN-X Training Programs available at the link below and get started right away on building a ripped, muscular, athletic body.

What Is Considered Mild Autism? | Autism

So what is considered mild autism? As the word mild implies, it means there's a little bit of autism, per say. So what does that mean? On a gradient, when a child has symptoms, we look at the core symptoms of speech and language delay for example, or difficulty with social referencing and social engagement, social communication and, again, the restricted repertoire of play and repetitive behaviors. So if a child has a little bit of speech delay or some difficulty with speech and language, or a little bit of echolalia or some difficulty with social engagement, or has some repetitive stereotypic behaviors and play which can be redirected easily, you are hitting criteria of autism but the involvement is mild. With the new DSM-IV diagnosis, they actually want you to look at levels of severity. A lot of schools do the CARS, which is the Child Autism Rating Scale and they do have differentiation of mild, moderate, and severe. Mild would really come in that category when you look at symptoms and their severity. Based on that, you can actually say mild autism.

To clarify, the diagnosis of Pervasive Developmental Disorder, not otherwise specified, was often used for kids with what we now say, mild autism. Because they have just a few of the symptoms, they don't classically hit all of the autism criteria, but they have some of these differences that parents can say, for example: covering their ears, or sensitive to sounds, or not picking up in social relationships, not picking up cues, having difficulty understanding jokes, for example, being very literal or what they call poor pragmatics, or having particular fascinations-everything is Thomas the Tank engine. They can be transitioned, but they have particular tendencies which is different from another neurotypically developing child.

A lot of these children do get diagnosed with PDD, not otherwise specified, or mild autism and it's really a matter of degree. I think the important thing is to get formalized testing done so you really know where your child falls in the spectrum, and you have a sense of how impaired your child is, or how little impaired your child is, and then you can compare your child to her or himself so that they'll be measured along their own spectrum, not just with a reference to other children.

Random Thought:
Just a little FYI here for those who've asked. I've been asked on various platforms since the 2nd Q&A video I did -- so if you don't do sponsored videos then are you just doing YouTube for fun? Since many creators make it seem like sponsorships are the only way to put food on the table. No, I (and every other creator who qualifies) make money through Google AdSense- that comes from the ads that run before/during/after videos. Often creators talk about sponsorships as though those are the only ways they're able to stay afloat in this world, but a large channel (for example) on YouTube that's getting hundreds of thousands of views is making good AdSense money.
