SUMMARY
-Modern lithium-ion batteries have built-in controllers to prevent any possible damage. They stop charging when the battery is 100% full, so you really have no reason to fear fire or phone damage.
-Experts at Battery University promise that your battery will serve you longer and more effectively if you keep it at 40 to 80%.
-In case you have a lightning protection system, no pets, and a legit charger, it’s up to you to decide whether or not you’ll leave your charger plugged into the wall.
-As long as you’re using a legit device and charger or an official replacement from the manufacturer, there’s no risk in using a plugged-in phone.
-If you decide to get a fake or uncertified charger, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t work as fast as the original or makes your battery barely last an hour.
-Giving your phone a break and turning it off at least once a week will help conserve its battery over time.
-Modern power circuits in laptops block battery charging when it’s full, so it’s totally safe to keep it constantly plugged in.

15 Mistakes That Shorten the Life of Your Phone

How to charge the battery correctly? Why do the phone batteries decrease so quickly? We have 15 amazing tips that will make your smartphone live a longer life!

Nowadays one can hardly imagine life without a cell phone. And it happens quite often that our gadgets start to act up just half a year after we bought them. It is frustrating, but in most cases, we ourselves are to blame! Let’s face it — we don’t always handle our devices properly.

TIMESTAMPS
Recharge your battery more often 0:45
Don’t keep the battery charging all the time 1:24
Don’t buy cheap chargers 2:01
Be careful with «ultrafast» chargers 2:28
Remove your protective case 2:49
Drain your battery from time to time 3:10
Avoid high temperatures 3:29
Avoid cold temperatures 4:02
Avoid bright wallpaper and adjust screen brightness 4:34
Watch out for voltage fluctuations 5:19
Clean the ports and wipe the display 5:45
Keep the phone far from water 6:40
Handle your phone carefully 7:15
Avoid software updates 7:42
Use cloud storage 8:29

SUMMARY
- To increase your gadget’s battery life, you should recharge it more often. The best option is to do it each time the battery power indicator drops to 10-20%. This will increase the number of discharge cycles up to 1000-1100 cycles.
- An inbuilt controller stops the battery from taking more current than necessary, so there is absolutely no risk of overcharging the battery and destroying it.
- There have been situations when a person was using a non-native charger, and it caused a fire in the house! And another terrible thing that can happen if you use non-native chargers and cables is getting an electric shock.
- We recommend you to avoid using chargers that claim to charge your battery fully in less than an hour.
- If your smartphone has a bulky protective case, it might cause the device and its battery to overheat during a lengthy recharging session.
- It is recommended to discharge your phone’s battery every three months to 0% and then immediately charge it to 100% to get rid of the extremes of full charge/discharge.
- A high temperature is the worst thing you can imagine for lithium-ion batteries: they totally can’t stand overheating.
- Carry the phone in an inner pocket of your coat or an outer pocket but encased in a protective covering. Low temperatures are harmful to the battery because it needs more power to keep itself warm enough to function.
- Try to lower the brightness of your screen at least by 30-40%.
- At the approach of a thunderstorm, never charge your phone. Actually, the same goes for all the electrical appliances you have.
- To wipe the screen, use lint-free wipers and whatever you do, never use window cleaning liquids. They contain ammonia which can damage the screen irrevocably.
- If you drop your cell phone into a pool or a sink, the first thing you should do after you get it out is turn it off and remove the battery (if it’s possible, of course).
- Don’t put your cell phone on the dashboard when driving. Constant moving and bumping can cause a lot of damage.
- Read user reviews before you hit the update button. The problem with such updates is that it’s either very hard or impossible to go back to the previous version of the software.
- Even if you have a lot of free space on your hard drive, it’s better to use cloud storage anyway. This way your phone won’t be clogged with too much data so that it will perform much better.

13 Secrets to Keep Your Phone Battery Alive for Longer

Nothing can ruin your mood faster than having a low battery on your phone and no charger in sight. To avoid the mini panic attack we all have when that happens, try these 13 secret simple tricks to prolong your phone’s battery life.
Pretty much all mobile apps send you Push-notifications. Taking advantage of this function eats up a lot of your phone's energy and kills the battery.
Instead of using vibration, leave your phone on silent or use the ringtone setting with the volume turned down as low as possible.
The minimum option for auto-lock is usually 15-30 seconds, but some models even allow you to set it to 10. It works miracles when it comes to saving battery. Airplane mode does the same. What’s also cool about it is that if you keep it on while your phone’s charging, your battery will get full faster.
Letting the battery run all the way down actually damages it. That’s because modern lithium-based batteries are specifically made to be charged in short quick sessions. If that’s what they’re designed for, then we should do it that way.
When you choose 4G in the settings, both 4G and 3G radios are switched on, which is why your phone loses charge two times faster. So if you really need to save the battery, turn off 4G or even 3G and go with 2G instead.
Batteries produced by other companies usually cost less, but they’re also optimized worse than original ones, and this can harm your device. It's better to pay more once than spend a fortune repairing your phone.

SUMMARY
-Turn off notifications from apps you rarely use. Keeping Bluetooth, WiFi, infrared capabilities, and GPS switched off until you need to use them does a lot for your battery life as well.
-If you want to conserve energy on your phone, switch off the vibrate function.
-If you really want your battery to serve you longer, put auto-lock on the shortest time available in your settings.
-Turn the screen’s brightness to the lowest setting possible or at least as close to it as you can while still being able to see everything.
-Auto app updates consume a lot of your phone's charge since the upgrades can be pretty big.
-If you urgently need to save what little battery you have left, switch off not only Bluetooth, WiFi, and similar features, but 3G/LTE as well.
-A quick way to switch off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and mobile data is to put your phone on airplane mode.
-If you notice the signal isn't perfect, just turn on airplane mode to prevent your phone from wasting battery searching for it.
-Letting the battery run all the way down actually damages it, so don’t wait for your phone to “die” before charging it.
-If your battery is running down, avoid using additional functions, like the camera.
-The longer you talk, the faster your battery drains. So keep it short if you don’t want your phone to go black on you.
-4G gives you a faster connection, but it uses a lot of juice to provide you with such outstanding service.
-Go for a black background - when the picture is black, all the pixels are off, so your phone doesn’t have to use its energy to light them.
-Use official batteries from your phone’s manufacturer. Prepare a new battery for use. Don’t skip on software updates. Avoid really low and high temperatures.

SUMMARY
-You’d better close the top 3 or 5 energy-sucking apps if you’re not using them at the moment.
-Delete the games and apps you haven’t used in months. Remember, the more mobile apps you’ve installed, the bigger the amount of energy they consume.
-Turn off settings you rarely use, like Bluetooth, mobile data, and reading mode. Wi-Fi could be an exception here, but it’s better to switch it off anyway.
-Cut the brightness down to about 30 to 50%, or take advantage of your phone’s auto-brightness feature.
-Whether you’re an iPhone user and you know it as “Low Power Mode” or you prefer Android and call it “Power Saver”, turn it on to maximize your battery life.
-Believe it or not, the vibration mode takes a bigger toll on your battery life than your ringtone.
-Turn off “Push” notifications on your email settings. This simple trick can also boost your phone’s battery life.
-Tweak Location Services and use them sparingly. You can also choose which of your apps can use this feature.
-Go ahead and disable the setting “Listen for Hey Siri” or “From the Google app” if you’re looking to extend your battery life.
-If you’re like the majority of us who forget to turn the display off when we set our phone down, then you might wanna put the screen timeout to the lowest setting possible.
-Overcharging can definitely damage the battery, so be careful.
-Pull the cord when it reaches 80% and recharge before it drops to 20%.
-Whenever you’re playing games or typing a text, go ahead and plug it into the charger.
-Apple actually recommends that their customers remove the case while charging their phone.

10+ Reasons Your Phone Battery Dies So Fast

Why does your phone battery die so fast? These days, owning a smartphone means constantly searching for a socket thanks to the battery running out so quickly. Sometimes it’s not even enough for one day. You might blame the manufacturer, but the sad truth is that the main problem here is operator error.

Did you know, for example, that charging your phone fully is actually bad for your battery? Or that every notification you get sucks the life out of it? So, Bright Side found out the reasons why your phone’s battery decreases so quickly. Check if it is you who influences the battery level.

TIMESTAMPS:
You don't clean the charging port 0:40
You have a bright wallpaper 1:13
You carry your phone in your hand 1:50
You don't fully close programs 2:20
You get way too many notifications 2:50
You don't check your battery settings 3:28
You keep your screen on maximum brightness 4:03
You use the max volume 4:39
You switch on vibrate 5:04
You don't set a “time out” for the screen 5:30
You switch on GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 6:03
You use voice controls way too often 6:30
You forget to turn off the auto-rotate screen 6:56
You don't turn your phone off 7:25
You always charge your phone to 100% 7:54

SUMMARY:
- Make it a habit to clean this port with a pointed Q-tip or a toothpick just as often as you wipe the screen. It won't be long till you notice how much more effective charging has become!
- Your love for bright images could be the main reason why your battery keeps running out! Each time you check your text messages or missed calls, the wallpaper is there and it keeps eating up your battery.
- Every time there's a temperature spike, your phone starts heating up too. And carrying it in your hand makes the situation even worse since your phone starts to pick up the warmth of your hand as well.
- Don’t just leave your programs running in the background. Close them fully after each time you use them.
- Try disabling notifications for all your apps except the absolute essential ones for at least a day, and see how long your battery lasts.
- A super bright screen can be pretty handy, but it’s not a good idea if you’re looking to keep your battery life at its max.
- The same goes for keeping your volume turned all the way up – it consumes way too much of your phone’s energy.
- If you want to seriously prolong the life of your battery, you have to put your phone down from time to time and just let it be.
- Unfortunately, keeping your GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi on also makes your phone battery run low really fast.
- When used too often, voice controls affect your battery life just as much as any other background function.
- The auto-rotate function is really convenient for looking at pictures or when you’re on a YouTube video marathon. But when left on all the time, it just dries your battery out completely!
- Make sure to turn your phone off every night so that the battery can cool down.

12 Dangerous Android Apps You Need to Delete Immediately

Pay attention to the list of the most suspicious apps you may come across in Google Play. Delete them from your phone immediately to protect your personal data and extend the life of your phone.
Their creators promise the apps will optimize your device, extend the life of your battery and protect your phone from viruses. Some of them are even supposed to be lie detectors and defragmentation devices. In fact, all they give you is ads, and what they do is get access to your data and kill your battery. Considering the huge number of apps created every single day, not even Google can keep track and check the safety of all the new programs. So the security of your device mostly depends on you!

SUMMARY
-There was a weather app that allowed the bad guys to avoid two-step authentication and easily get access to banking information of those who installed it.
-Social media apps suck up so much of your device’s energy and kill the battery too.
-Optimizers don’t make your phone’s system faster, they just slow it down and bring you ads as an added bonus.
-Built-in browsers are mostly slow-working and don't have any protection from data interception.
-Hackers create their own antivirus apps, which can steal users’ personal data and even completely block the phone.
-You have at least two reasons two delete browsers from your phone: they slow it down, and require access to most aspects of the system, so they can even manage your calls.
-You won't get more memory than your phone had initially, but will provide memory apps with access to your data.
-Lie detector apps are about as useful as crystal balls, but they kill your battery and get access to your contacts and personal data.
-Defragmentation apps don’t work like promised. They can only analyze how much space certain programs take up, use your phone's resources and collect your personal data.
-You will want to delete this app because it consumes tons of data since it’s full of ads and causes a massive drain of your battery.
-Battery savers and fast chargers can’t really change the speed of your gadget charging, but can give you endless apps even on lock screen.
-If you don't want these apps to get access to all your data, avoid them at all costs.

10 New Secret Phone Settings That Will Surprise You

SUMMARY
- Go to “Settings” — “Lock screen and security” — “Lock screen signature.” Now write a backup phone number or your email there.
- Some apps (Cerberus is one of them) can take pictures, activate a mic, block the phone or/and delete all the data on it, locate it via GPS, or even use a loud signal to draw the attention of people nearby.
- Just upload all your data to Telegram Messenger. Telegram allows you to send files, texts, and links to yourself. You can use it both as a notepad and cloud storage.
- Use an old smartphone to create a simple security system for your home. An app with a motion sensor function will turn your device into a CCTV cam that takes pictures when someone appears in view. It will send photos to you right away.
- You can also use your smartphone as a DVR (dash cam) in your car. All you need to do is install your cam so that it has the best view of the road. To make it work even better, use special DVR apps.
- A UV light can be useful, especially if you want to check the authenticity of banknotes. DIY by utilizing some tape, markers, and a smartphone, of course.
- Any smartphone now has an accelerometer and a gyro sensor. Both allow it to determine the device’s position in space. Download specific apps for Android and iOS and your phone can replace a level device. It will definitely work for small construction.
- If you are serious about your smartphone and use it all the time, you may as well change its settings like a professional. To do so, you need to go to the Developer Menu. Go to: Settings — About the phone — Click 7 times on “Model Number.”
- On iOS, simply go to “Settings” — “Battery” and press the dial key to the right of the “last 7 days” column. A list of your most-used apps will appear. For Android, you will have to install one more app (yes, again an app, another one), such as Instant.
- Go to the “magical” developer’s menu, and find “simulate anomaly,” then switch the monochrome mode on. Now your phone will work in black and white.

What is your favorite phone brand, by the way? Do you know any other interesting smartphone features? Share them in the comments!

What to Do If Your Phone Falls In Water?

How to Save a Wet Cell Phone. Things happen, and sometime your favorite smartphone might find itself in water. Water is your phone’s worst enemy, capable of wiping out all your pictures and stored data. Fortunately, there are simple things and easy tips that’ll cost you no money you can do to try to save your phone.

Music:

SUMMARY
-The more exposure your phone has to the water, the more water will get inside the case and damage the internal components.
-If the power stays on, the phone runs the risk of short-circuiting, which will cause more damage to the mechanisms inside.
-If you can take the battery out, do it immediately. Removing the energy supply will help prevent the phone from being fried.
-Remove all the covers and plugs that cover the charging port, headphone port, or any gap or slot in the phone. These can trap moisture inside the phone or be damaged themselves.
-Avoid using paper as particles can come loose and clog up the ports of the phone.
-The heat produced by a hair dryer can cause significant damage to the internal components of your phone, and vaporizing the moisture inside the phone can just spread it further.
-Shaking your phone can get rid of a lot of those pesky droplets of moisture stuck inside the phone.
-Put the phone in a plastic bag, and suck out the air with a vacuum cleaner or shop vac.
-Uncooked rice is naturally absorbent, and water can flow right out of a phone and into the rice. Put the phone and all its parts in a bowl or jar of rice, and leave it there for at least 48 hours.
-Try submerging your phone in circuit-safe cleaner or pure grain alcohol, which will absorb the moisture, clean any impurities, and ultimately evaporate without leaving a conductive residue.
-Don’t keep the phone in a jar of rice next to the sink or washing machine, for instance, where accidents can happen.
-It is very, very important to give your phone at least 2 days to dry.
-It’s possible that you have your warranty through a third party vendor, such as Asurion or SquareTrade. They might cover accidental spills or submersion.
-Once you’re sure your phone is dry, you can plug it back in and try to turn it on. If it powers up, you’re in business.

If Your Own Number Calls You, Don't Pick Up!

Scammers keep coming up with new and more creative schemes to steal your money or valuable data. If you stay updated on the new phone scam schemes you can protect your money and data from scammers. This new scam has the potential to outsmart all other types of fraud. The Better Business Bureau has already called it the most dangerous phone scam out there! So, if your own number calls you, never ever take the call!
Typically, the bad guys calling you from your own number introduce themselves as representatives from your mobile provider. They start by informing you that somebody has hacked your account. Then, they ask you to verify a few things. This sounds so trustworthy and people are already freaked out at the thought of their account being hacked that they willingly give up their personal data.
First and foremost, don't answer the phone. There's no way that you are calling yourself. Authorities also recommend signing up for the National Do Not Call Registry. And if you get unwanted calls, you can report them to the Federal Trade Commission.

SUMMARY
-Scammers can read you like a book and use their silver tongue to talk you into giving them information about your phone account and even your social security and credit card numbers.
-Criminals claim to be representatives from your mobile provider. They start by informing you that somebody has hacked your account and ask to provide your personal data to save your account.
-The Federal Communications Commission advises people to always verify callers claiming to be representatives of government agencies and other organizations. Also, be extremely cautious about the information you give to anyone calling you.
-Scams involving your local area code, repeated calls scam, the Can you hear me? scam are all pretty popular as well.
-Avoid talking to strangers on the phone if possible. Be attentive if you have picked up: listen for pauses after each time you say something, it's most likely a robocall, so hang up.

Apple Staff Reveal 11 Mistakes iPhone Users Make

11 pieces of advice from Apple staff that can help you prolong the life of your favorite smartphone. You won't believe how many rules you have already broken!

Every time we buy a new phone, we are fascinated by how ideal the device is. We don’t even think that something might break. Later, we look at the dead screen and can’t understand what happened.
Bright Side has collected 11 pieces of advice from Apple staff that can help you prolong the life of your favorite smartphone. You won't believe how many rules you have already broken!

TIMESTAMPS
Use only the original charger 0:33
Always have access to the number your iCloud is connected to 1:05
Don't clear all the applications in multitasking 1:47
Choose a protective case that covers all the important ports 2:14
Turn off your phone in very hot weather, and don't take it out of your pocket in cold weather 3:00
Don't charge your phone for the entire night 3:37
Don't leave the battery uncharged for a long time 4:14
Don't let too many apps send you push notifications 4:51
Don't use location services all the time 5:27
Reboot your iPhone from time to time 6:05
Don't leave Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on all the time 6:42

SUMMARY
- Charging your iPhone with a fake charger can lead to very sad results. You should be very careful about it. Even when you are at your friend’s place, always ask them if they have the original charger.
- Do not install any updates if you don’t have access to the associated phone number. After the reboot, you will have to type in the code sent to the phone number.
- Background applications are paused and don’t need any extra energy! They do not affect your battery at all. However, when you turn them on again, they take much more energy to launch.
- A case that covers important ports will save you from having to clean your iPhone and decrease the risk of burning your charger because the port was full of trash.
- Officially, you can only use your phone in the temperature range of 32ºF to 95ºF. Unfortunately, using the phone at all other temperatures can lead to very bad consequences.
- If you disconnect the iPhone charger before the battery level reaches 100%, the battery will live a longer and happier life.
- The battery might break down if you don’t use it for a long time. And the next time you try to use it, you will see only the black screen.
- Constantly appearing push notifications will pretty much chain you to your phone.
- Location Services is one of the key factors that affect the battery life of your iOS device. This technology is used by both important applications, such as Find my iPhone or maps, and by those that don’t really need the location services all the time.
- Even Apple support says that to solve most problems with an iOS device, all you need to do is reboot it once a week. It’s like some sort of meditation for your iPhone!
- If you're one of those people, who always do so, you should know that when Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled and not in use, the battery energy is wasted.

You Won't Use Your Phone Again in a Bathroom After Watching This

Never take your phone to the bathroom. There are some places and moments you should not share with it because it can be dangerous for your health (for example, never use your phone in a bathroom!). Here is a list of real risks your phone has for you.

Never take your phone to the bathroom 6:12
Never put your phone in your pocket 7:43
Your phone does not belong in your bedroom 9:08

SUMMARY
How much does your mobile phone mean to you? Not that much? You just use it to make private and work calls, send messages for both fun and business, take pictures and share them on social networks and through messengers. It navigates you. It answers all your questions. You also have some important apps installed, so it gets you a cab when you need it, orders food for you and keeps you entertained when you have spare time and feel bored.
There is a good chance it also wakes you up in the morning. Did we get it right? However, there are some places and moments you should not share with it because it can be dangerous for your health.

For example, you should never take your phone to your bedroom.
Eight out of ten people keep their mobile phones on overnight, and 50 % use their phones as an alarm clock. It just seems natural to go through your mail or social networks before going to bed to finish the day, and you can’t wait to wake up and see what’s new in the morning.
There is news for you: it is dangerous for your health to keep your phone on your bedside table and even in your bedroom altogether. The artificial blue light your phone emits can suppress the hormones that promote sleep so you will find it harder to fall asleep. As a result, it will interfere with your body’s natural rhythm: it will make your body believe it is daytime, and there is no need to go to bed. It will deprive you of sleep you need to restore energy for the day.
Even if you manage to fall asleep easily despite that electronic light, random overnight vibration, beeping and occurring light will wake you up long before you are supposed to.

Make sure you share this video with your friends and family – help them stay safe and healthy.

7 Ingenious Tricks and Life Hacks for Your Smartphone. They will help you overcome some everyday problems and make your life much easier. And don’t miss a cool bonus tip at the end!
Nowadays smartphones not only have numerous features of their own but also allow you to download multiple apps for any possible situation and purpose.

TIMESTAMPS
Measure a distance 1:12
Test your remote control batteries 2:25
Control your phone without touching it 3:20
Drive safely 4:10
Send texts from your PC 5:02
Make better decisions 5:54
Keep yourself safe 6:59
BONUS 8:09

SUMMARY
- Download the app called SizeUp, which will let you measure anything you need quickly and easily. This app will help you deal with any challenge in the blink of an eye thanks to its ability to measure almost anything through your phone’s camera. Just run the program, point the camera at the object, and wait for the result.
- Take the remote control, point it at the camera, and press any button. If you see a red or pinkish light coming from the tip of the remote when you look at it through your phone’s display, it means the infrared signal is working properly and the problem, in this case, is the batteries.
- Wave Control is available for both Android and iOS devices. While using this app, you can launch music and video players or answer calls with a wave of your hand without worrying about getting dirt all over your screen while cooking or cleaning.
- If you’re driving in the dark and want to keep your eyes constantly on the road, you can download a certain app called Hudway, which will come in handy. This app helps you drive more safely, especially when it's raining or snowing outside. It also clears the vision, when there's fog.
- With the app called Mighty Text, you won’t miss a thing! It syncs your phone and computer or tablet and gives you the opportunity to manage SMS and MMS from your email. All messages linked to your phone number will appear on your computer screen, and you can also find them in your phone’s text inbox.
- To save your time and make the decision-making process a little bit easier, name your options, set characteristics, and let this app called Decision Crafting suggest the best choice instantly. The app makes the final decision after considering all the pros and cons of each choice and comparing them to one another based on different criteria.
- If you often come home late in the evening and feel unsafe on the streets, there's an app called Bsafe, which may help to calm your nerves and deal with any potential danger. It will not only send an SOS message to your emergency contacts but will also record video and audio, track your GPS location, and set a timer that will automatically send an alarm to friends if you don’t turn it off in time.

8 CHARGING MISTAKES KILLING YOUR Battery

Click Here to subscribe to become a bro
8. CHARGING MISTAKES KILLING YOUR Battery
Some of our seemingly harmless habits are doing slow, silent, deadly damage to those precious lithium-ion batteries.
1.You are charging to 100 percent.
If your palms start sweating when your battery drops below 90%, you need to chill. Maintaining a full charge is not the most efficient way to keep your phone battery strong. In fact, experts suggest letting your phone coast through the day between 30 and 80 percent full. That's where it's most comfortable, and will run most efficiently. So stop juicing it overnight, and instead go for shorter and more frequent bursts throughout the day.

2. .You are letting your phone die.
Lithium batteries become volatile when they drop down to low power, so you should avoid getting that pesky “low battery” warning too often. Every full discharge wears down your battery ever so slightly. That being said, Apple and other experts suggest you let it fully run out of juice every one to two months to “calibrate” the battery gauge.

3. You are overheating your battery.
Okay, this isn't specifically a charging issue. But it's still very important. You’ve probably noticed that your phone is annoyingly sluggish after its been sitting out in the sun. That's because iPhone batteries really, really hate extreme temperatures, and have to work extra hard in high heat or cold. According to Apple, the “comfort zone” for iPhones (as well as iPads, iPods, and Apple Watches) is between 32 and 95 degrees. Bottom line: your phone is basically a needy little computer baby that needs to be bundled up and cooled off on the regular.

4. You are using your wireless charger too much.
Your mophie backup battery case is a godsend when you're out & about and need some extra juice to get home. But both your battery and the case itself emit heat during charging, which can do long term damage your device. To avoid overheating, try a portable power source that doesn’t attach to your phone.

5. You are leaving your case on while you charge.
While we're on the subject, if your phone feels too hot when it's plugged in, it's possible your fancy schmancy case might be trapping in the heat that's produced while charging. So do your phone a favor and take it off.

6. You are storing your backup phone without a charge.
If You are hanging onto your old phone as a backup for when you inevitably drop your new 6S in the toilet, make sure you stash it in a cool place, roughly half-charged. According to Apple, it you leave the battery completely depleted it will fall into what’s known as a “deep discharge state,” which apart from sounding like a nightmarish medical issue, will render it less capable of holding a charge in the future. Conversely, if you store it fully charged for an extended period, it may lose some capacity as well.

7. You are using the wrong charger.
Your Apple-issued charger is designed to cut power when the battery hits 100%, but those cheapo unauthorized third-party USB cords are not, and may do some damage by excessively juicing the battery. Plus, you know, they could kill you.

.8. Turn down the brightness
You’ll squeeze more battery life out of your phone by turning the brightness down. Previous tests suggest the difference in battery life between the highest and lowest brightness settings on an iPhone is a few hours. You can automatically dim your iPhone’s brightness with Tasker (for Android too). Dark wallpapers might also make a difference. Brightness matters also when you’re running on battery on your laptop.
