$50 MTB DROP Build Adjustable Height || Backyard Bike Trail

Step by step how to build a adjustable height MTB drop for beginner riders, someone who wants to try drops for the first time, or someone who already knows how to hit drops but just wants a fun easy feature. This drop is super easy to build and can be finished in a couple hours. It is designed to be left outside but you don't need a backyard trail to build one; all you really need is a driveway or a yard of any kind because this drop can be moved around with ease and set up anywhere. Once you master the lowest setting the drop can easily be raised up to a higher setting in under 5 minutes. All the wood for this drop cost under $50.00. These plans can be easily modified to make the drop higher, lower, narrower, or wider. Hope you enjoy the video and hope you get out there and build something of your own - Ben

Building a BIKE OBSTACLE COURSE on my Backyard Trail!

We are taking down the old Roller Coaster feature and rebuilding on its frame a Obstacle Course Feature. This will consist of a zig zagging skinny with a teeter totter in the middle of it!

Trail building skinnies is kinda one of my favorite things to build because there are so many ways you can build them. This one is definitely one of my favorites that I've built so far.

Building a beginner friendly ramp for BMX and Mountain bikes!

DIY beginner Ramp build for BMX and mountain bikes! I've needed a beginner bike ramp to help demonstrate mountain bike skills better. The process of building a small wooden ramp took me longer than anticipated. I'm experienced building bike jumps with dirt, but building wooden bike jumps is another story! This isn't just a BMX ramp, or MTB ramp, you can use this as a skateboard ramp too!

Getting Started on my Backyard Mountain Bike Trails

We've been doing lots of home renovation and improvement projects for the past few weeks, and it has all been in preparation for the main course: The backyard mountain bike trails! Today, we build the Berm Peak Express, a climbing trail that ends at the summit of my property.

From there, we will build a trailhead, and all the routes that will descend from the top. Join me for a day of building, DIY, and lots of fun.

STAY HOME STACK DIRT - Double Roller From DIRT

This week I'm at home and will show you guys HOW to build a double roller from DIRT.

Due to the current situation in the world and fact the UK along with a lot of other places are in LOCKDOWN I am at home stacking dirt. My plan is to continue to put out content for you and create as much as I can from the safety of home.

We are filming everything on a phone so please forgive the downgrade (especially audio) in quality from our usual uploads but we have no option as Alfie (Descent Media) is locked away in his house.

This episode of STAY HOME STACK DIRT is focused on a DOUBLE roller. I got a chance to get ALL the tools out for this build to really speed up the process but still create a high quality roller.

STAY HOME, STAY SAFE

Building up a new hardtail mountain bike... again!

In this video, we totally rebuild my hardtail, and then ride the whale tail for the first time without rear suspension. Overall, this build was quite rushed due to our need to continue filming for the other channel, but if you decide to build your own bike I recommend taking your time! A lot can go wrong on a mountain bike, and your safety depends on it.

The following companies have sent me products for the video, with the understanding that they might get screen time. They are not affiliated with the channel as sponsors.

OneUp EDC Tool
Oneup Components kindly send the EDC tool, handlebars, and stem for this build. If you would like an EDC tool and do not want to thread your fork, just wait for the adapter to come back in stock.

Wheels manufacturing sent over the bottom bracket and some spare derailleur hangers. Their website-based derailleur hanger and bottom bracket finder is actually one of the best such tools I've seen.

Crankbrothers sent me a set of pre-release Synthesis alloy rims to test out a few months ago and now that they're being sold to the masses I'm allowed to talk about them. These have been on my bike since January.

Thanks for sending this bleed kit, Truman! I currently have all my bleed supplies in an oily disorganized pile, so this was a welcome addition to the shop.

Trail Building #3 - Building a Rollercoaster

In this trail building edit I take on building a rollercoaster feature right after a berm.

This build took a few days due to the weather fighting me every step of the way, but I got it done! 11 degree temps make snow turn directly to ice so riding this guy wasnt in the cards.

Subscribe to stay tuned and eventually see me ride these features!

Turning a dead oak tree into a mountain bike jump with a cheap mill

Muahaha! If you're one of those people who insist I buy the optimal tool for every job, you're really gonna hate this one. Today we use a $100 chainsaw and a $30 beam cutter attachment to mill oak into planks. And it works! Then we build a nice little kicker as a proof of concept. Enjoy!

Here is Wranglerstar's video on the saw mill:

The mill I used is sold out. Here's pretty much the same thing

Building a Backyard MTB Trail || Ramp Build

This is part two of the backyard MTB trail build. I am super stoked to start working on this trail some more. In this video I go step by step what I did to build a movable outdoor box jump for mountain biking. I break this build up into three parts:
1) Building the takeoff ramp
2) Building the landing ramp
3) Building the center tabletop section

This ramp is super fun and would be great for a ramp you can build and leave in your backyard, driveway, or anywhere else outdoors because it uses all pressure treated lumber. So no need to put this ramp away after each session!!

Berm Peak’s Trailhead gets a huge upgrade!

Today's project may not be the most exciting, but it will make Berm Peak a lot more functional. I’ve been meaning to build this trail fo some time, as a more direct climbing route to the Flight Deck for both mountain bikes and supplies. Because the trail connects Berm Peak trailhead with the driveway via Gator, it's now possible to shuttle three of our trails!

Building and Riding the Backyard Flight Deck

Nothing says home improvement like building a mountain bike park in your yard. Today, we build an elevated roll-in deck at the summit of Berm Peak. I'm calling it, The Flight Deck. In the future, we could build drops, bridges, or any number of features off the flight deck. This was a pretty big build for one amateur carpenter to do in a weekend, so I sure learned a lot on this one. Enjoy!

Building and Riding the Backyard Whale Tail

Note: This video was not filmed yesterday! We're in isolation right now on Berm Peak. Nobody comes and goes except for the grocery store or doctor. To see how we're passing the time, check out my instagram stories

The whale tail has been in the works for a while, but I haven't had the chance to build it until now. A lot of things needed to be in place, like the landing, a better roll-in, that kicker, not to mention a working Kevin Jump with a wood berm after it. Thanks to Kevin, Brian, and Alexander for helping out on this build. They all have YouTube channels:
