COVID-19 - An Easy Way to Know You DON'T HAVE IT!

Empowering Talk: Protecting Families During COVID-19 Pandemic - Dr. David Price -New York City

Note: Our goal is simply to circulate credible and helpful information on this topic.

Dr. David Price of Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City shares information in a Mar. 22 Zoom call with family and friends on empowering and protecting families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Highly encourage you to watch this video by Dr. David Price of Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City.

He shares information with his friends and family on a Zoom call on March 22, 2020 and an empowering message on how to protect families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

His Key Message:
1. COVID is in your community right now.
2. You don’t need to be afraid of COVID-19 and your neighbors, IF YOU FOLLOW THE RULES.
3. Spread is happening almost exclusively from respiratory droplets from your hands to your face.
4. Current medical belief is that it can be through aerosol transmission, but only through long sustained contact with a sick person in closed spaces (15 - 20 min). This is why heath care providers on the front lines without protection are getting sick. The general pubic following THE RULES will not.
5. Children between 0 -14 still don’t seem to show symptoms, but people from 15 - 105 are and are all experiencing varied levels of issues and being put on respirators. This is not simply affecting an older population and at-risk population, but more so.
6. Use telemedicine. Don’t go to the hospital unless you are short of breath. If you suspect or have COVID, quarantine at home.

The Rules
- Know where your hands are and have been and clean all the time. If you keep your hands clean you won’t get COVID-19. Walk around with hand sanitizer. Use it every time you touch something when you are outside of your controlled environment and touch something.

- Don’t Touch Your Face. Wear a mask to train yourself not to touch your face. The public does not need N95 masks to keep from getting COVID. Wear a mask to train yourself not touch your face as well as send a message to others that you are tasking this seriously.

- Social Distance. Shrink your social circle to your immediate isolation group of 3 - 4 people and set boundaries. When you go to the store, keep 6 feet away from people to avoid contact.

Cleaning Products That DESTROY CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) - Queen Of Clean Cleaning Tip Video

Cleaning Products That Destroy Coronavirus

Soap and Water
Just the friction from scrubbing with soap and water can break the coronavirus’s protective envelope. Scrub your hands, don’t just wash. Wash for at least 20 seconds. Discard the towel or leave it in a bowl of soapy water for a while to destroy any virus particles that may have survived. Using paper towels also works.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a diluted bleach solution (⅓ cup bleach per 1 gallon of water or 4 teaspoons bleach per 1 quart of water) for virus disinfection. Wear gloves while using bleach, and never mix it with ammonia or anything except water.

Bleach works great against viruses, Don’t keep the solution for longer than a few days because bleach will degrade certain plastic containers if you store it in them.

Bleach can also corrode metal over time, so do not get into the habit of cleaning faucets and stainless steel products with it. Because bleach is harsh for many countertops as well, you should rinse surfaces with water after disinfecting to prevent discoloration or damage to the surface.

Isopropyl Alcohol
Alcohol solutions with at least 70 percent alcohol are effective against coronavirus. You can also buy 91% alcohol. Do not dilute the alcohol solution. Alcohol is generally safe for all surfaces.

Hydrogen Peroxide
According to the CDC, household (3 percent) hydrogen peroxide is effective in deactivating rhinovirus, the virus that causes the common cold, within 6 to 8 minutes of exposure. Rhinovirus is more difficult to destroy than coronaviruses, so hydrogen peroxide should be able to break down coronavirus in less time. Pour it, undiluted, into a spray bottle and spray it on the surface to be cleaned, but let it sit on the surface for at least 5-10 minutes. Then wipe if you want. Safe for food prep areas. If you buy the larger size 32 0z peroxide you can attach a sprayer to the top and use it that way. Do not expose it to light – use an opaque container – because light will destroy the peroxide.

Hydrogen peroxide is not corrosive, so it’s okay to use it on metal surfaces. But similar to bleach, it can discolor fabrics if you accidentally get in on your clothes. It’s great for getting into hard-to-reach areas. You can pour it on the area and you don’t have to wipe it off because it essentially decomposes into oxygen and water.

What Not to Use Against Coronavirus

Homemade Hand Sanitizer
You’re probably seeing all sorts of hand sanitizer recipes. Unless stores are totally out of hand sanitizer I would not advise making your own. Sanitizers are tested and retested and made to a set of standards. You can’t replicate that at home. If you have to make it, check out my recipe on FB and and you MUST use 70% or 91% alcohol,

There are widely circulated recipes on the internet using vodka to combat coronavirus. 80-proof does not contain enough ethyl alcohol (40 percent compared with the 70 percent required) to kill the coronavirus.

Distilled White Vinegar
Disinfection recommendations using vinegar are popular online, but there is no evidence that they are effective against coronavirus.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are generally not effective against the Coronavirus, even Tea Tree Oil that I generally love and recommend. These oils can’t break down the shell around the virus to kill it.

Rebecca Brand shows how to Self Quarantine for the Coronavirus - Covid-19 - Pandemic - News of March 2020 - Households needs to prepare for Self Quarantine - Quarantine for American Households is here and this is a part of a series of HOW TO QUARANTINE AT HOME. This video is for the first step, to take inventory. You will need as The US Department of Homeland Security recommends stocking up enough food and water for two weeks before a pandemic strikes.
Dry goods like rice, pasta, beans, and oats should be the foundation of your stockpile. You should also stock up on canned foods that contain liquid, -- maybe you will need to drink it... such as tomatoes, soups, beans, and tuna, canned chicken, and lots of canned vegetables --The excess liquid can be used to cook dried food like rice and pasta. You will need a working can opener and get a spare. Already there is a rice shortage.... check your supplies and write down on paper what you will need. Try to think of what you need to hunker down, and what you don't need, but you will need to get a stockpile, especially if you have a household. I hope these are good ideas for self quarantine.

In addition to worrying about having an ample supply of food in the house and feeling anxious over shopping in crowded supermarkets, people are also concerned about whether they can get COVID-19—the disease caused by the new coronavirus—from the groceries and takeout they’re buying.

Here’s the good news: “The science around coronavirus continues to unfold, but there is currently no evidence that the disease is transmitted by food,” says Donald Schaffner, Ph.D., a distinguished professor in the department of food science at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.

Wash your hands before and after preparing food—and during if you are handling raw meat, poultry, seafood, or eggs—as well as before you eat. Wash fruits and vegetables. Don’t eat raw dough or batter (E. coli is sometimes found in flour). In addition, be sure to prevent cross-contamination by keeping raw meat separate from other foods, using separate cutting boards for meat and vegetables, and using a food thermometer to ensure safe cooking temperatures. You should also refrigerate perishable foods and leftovers promptly.

We hope this helps!!!!

Just wanted to offer my perspective on this scary situation and tell you how I am choosing to deal with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

I just want to offer my perspective on this scary situation and tell you how I am choosing to deal with the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This whole Cornoavirus thing is weird... and scary. I wasn't going to talk about it, but the more that it comes out and the more people are effected, I want to discuss how to handle this time. I have only been scared like this twice. Once was 9/11 where I felt completely out of control. I was rocked to the core -- and so was the US. I affected me greatly and it changed how I saw the world, people, and society. And now this -- this virus is another moment in time that is going to change us. I have washed my hands more than I have in my entire life. I am not a prepper or conspiracy theorist -- but the more that this goes on, this COVID-19 is not good. We need to take care of ourselves and other people.

I have adjusted my lifestyle --

I have stopped going to Starbucks to work. I get my coffee to go and work from my office.

I stopped going to the gym, but I am fortunate that I have a home gym. If you don't have a home gym, get creative and do home workouts, exercise outside, do body weight exercises, and more. Gyms are a cesspool of funkiness.

I am also being clean as possible. Friday sushi night is now takeout. I am washing my hands and cleaning out my sinuses.

I have decided to kick this virus's ass --

I choose not to be a victim. I am taking control by adjusting my lifestyle, but if I end up contracting it, I am going to kick its MF ass! Don't fall into the victim mindset. Being scared is understandable but don't live in fear. Don't be dumb but don't let it win. Life will get back to normal, but take care of yourself in the meantime. Exercise! Take care of yourself. Life is going to be on-hold and will be a little different, but take control of things you can control.

This video makes me feel better. You are not alone. This will pass. Crisis brings a society together -- when we deal with big things like this, little things don't matter anymore. This virus has been a wake-up call -- we are going to be more protected, and we will take care of each other.

Until it gets back to normal, be good to yourself. Grooming and being sexy doesn't stop!

Today, I want to introduce you the importance of Vitamin D.
