Can I build my OWN Electric Truck?! - Say Hello to the EV Humvee!

Today starts a BIG project. Ill be building my own electric truck out of a military HMMWV and 450 volts worth of Tesla electric batteries. We'll end up with far more power than we started. IF of course... i succeed. Making an electric vehicle is a difficult project. But as we know, Life is a Do it Yourself project. With Tesla, Rivian, Ford and Hummer all releasing new electric trucks next year... (hopefully) I decided ive waited long enough, and its time to just build my own.

How Strong is my NEW Electric Hummer Motor? - EV Conversion!

Its time to build my own electric truck. How much stronger will my electric motor be? By upgrading my Hummer to an all-electric drive train, we make everything WAY more efficient. No gear shifting, no emissions, just pure electric energy. From 0 mph all the way to 80 mph. This Humvee will morph from a gas guzzler to a green machine ;-)

Get your first month of KiwiCo for FREE!!:
We've accomplished a LOT on the Electric hummer, our electric motor and drive train are installed, and now its time to get the electrical working. Every electric vehicle has a 12 volt system. Just like a gas powered vehicle. The 12 volt system runs the headlights, windshield wiper motor, and all the accessories. Only the electric motor runs off of the super high 450 volt batteries.

Does My Electric Hummer have a KEY? - Time for some LED upgrades!

Today we finish off the brains of the 12 volt system. HUGE thanks to Oshcut again for laser cutting my dash panel: (not sponsored, they are just awesome.) In this video we start installing the important 12v components, like the headlights, blinkers, tail lights, along with the horn and the key to start the ignition. (And by ignition, I mean... relay that controls a fuse panel. )

Will My Electric Hummer Motor Spin?! - DANGER HIGH VOLTAGE!

Today its time to wire up the high voltage batteries to our Electric Hummer conversion. Working with high voltage DC Electricity is extremely dangerous. In todays Electric Humvee video we are going to install the VCU which gives throttle and gear selector commands to the inverter. Kind of important. When it comes time to wire up the batteries for real, we will have 450v with 100kWh worth of capacity. HUGE Thanks to Oshcut for laser cutting my mounts and battery box:

We might have a problem with the Brakes... - Electric Hummer Conversion!

Weve got the hydraulic pump connected to the hydroboost! But there are some issues... HUGE thanks to Brian for helping out with this part of the project: He's the guy who got me started with YouTube 8 years ago. In todays video we are working on getting the Power Steering and Power brakes set up with my Electric Hummer Conversion. The steering and brakes are both powered by one hydraulic pump that can supply 1000psi to the old hydroboost system that was previously installed in the Humvee.

Is the Tesla CyberTruck Worth it?! - A Truck Owners Thoughts

The Tesla Truck is here. And... its... different. Elons CyberTruck has broken the internet with its unique polarizing design. The Electric Tesla CyberTruck might look futuristic and funky, but its whats under the hood that maters. Figuratively speaking of course. Cuz... under the hood is more storage space. The Telsa Truck will be one of the most capable vehicles on the road when it comes out in 2021, and 2022. (Assuming Tesla can keep to the schedule.) And I am super excited about it. The specs of the new Electric Trucks take vehicles to the next level. far beyond what gas powered vehicles can accomplish.

My DIY Geothermal System Was So CHEAP!!!

If you've ever thought geothermal is out of your price range, I'm here to tell you that you may be surprised at how affordable it actually is. I did my own diy geothermal system for about the same price as a typical 13 to 14 SEER HVAC system, and I get double the efficiency. If you are willing to put in some work, you too can afford this option and reap the benefits of lower utility costs ongoing. A geothermal heat pump is one of the most efficient systems out there.

Homemade Off Road Electric Wheelchair - She had NO Idea!

Do you want one of these?!:
Watch how we built this Off Road Wheelchair contraption HERE: Building this Off Road Wheel chair out of two electric bikes was a super fun challenge, and ended up being much easier than I anticipated. With a few minor adjustments to the electric bikes, I was able to mount a seat 'chariot style' right between the two e-bike frames.

See our updated version HERE:

We need help choosing a name for this electric off road wheelchair! Let me know in the comments.

Ill post all the build details and dimensions in the construction video tomorrow. This off road wheel chair goes 20 miles per hour, and should have a range of 20-30 miles. It cost me about $3,000usd (mostly the price of the bikes). About 50 dollars worth of metal for the seat, and about 3 full days to design and assemble the whole wheelchair.

Splicing two electric bikes together to build a powerful off road wheel chair was super fun, and a sweet surprise for Cambry.
