The one thing todistinguish a cold from influenza is fever. While people with influenza do not show any fever, people who get cold show fever. With the novel coronavirus, the common symptoms also include fever. He said the novel coronavirus would only affect only mucosal areas like your inspiratory system. This results in respiratory failure. He stated MERS and SARS, which we saw a few years ago, are also coronaviruses, and now we're calling this novel coronavirus because it is a new strain. Coronavirus Covid-19: My Primary Precautions: Showers & Level Vitamin C

This video highlights two main precautionary efforts I use regarding the national emergency declaration regarding Coronavirus Covid-19. My main two strategies are to shower when I get home (an expansion of hand-washing with soap* & water) and to keep my intake of Vitamin C fairly level via daily intake of one orange or one grapefruit per day, one half in the morning and the other half at night. #FlattenTheCurve

*The soap I use most often is Dove: Sensitive Skin; it is neither antibacterial nor antimicrobial.

Vitamin C, D Treatment for Coronavirus and Related Illnesses, and Prevention and Protection from Viral InfectionsThe Chief Medical Operator at The LifeCo Wellbeing Phuket Thomas Lodi, MD, MD(H), gives a talk regarding the recent outbreak of novel coronavirus COVID-19 and prevention and protection from viral infections. Thomas Lodi, MD, MD (H) stated that you could prevent from COVID-19 with high doses of Vitamin C. The problem with high doses of Vitamin C is that it causes digestive distress such as diarrhea and nausea. In order to avoid these adverse effects, you can get Vitamin C intravenously. If you take themaximum dose orally, it should be preventive. However, in case of exposure to the COVID-19, as someone coughed on you, etc., then you can get higher doses. In his book, 'Curing the Incurable,' Thomas Levy, MD, supports the use of Vitamin C to prevent, cure, reverse and significantly improve a massive list of health conditions, including spider bites and viruses. There are some contraindications ofVitamin C in congestive heart failure and G6PD deficiency. After doing some tests and check for congestive heart failure and G6PD deficiency, it is safe to use it.
He said he has been taking a maximum oral dose for about 20 years. To decide the maximum dose for you, you have to check your bowel tolerance to Vitamin C. You can take one gram of Vitamin C every 30 or 45 minutes until you get diarrhea. When you add up the amount of Vitamin C until you get diarrhea, you know that your tolerance is 10 grams, so you should take 8 gr, but not at once but divide it like two times a day, 4 grams in the morning and 4 grams in the evening.
If you get a cold or flu, you'll realize that your bowel tolerance is increased because your body uses Vitamin C to get better. Therefore, your bowel tolerance to Vitamin C will be more; for example, it will take 25 gr Vitamin C to give you diarrhea. He said China had been conducting clinical trials regarding the use of Vitamin C intravenously in the treatment of the novel coronavirus.
The researches and experience have shown that when you have a therapeutic concentration of vitamin C in your blood, it is effective in treating viral infections. The researchers in China states that the significant large-dose intravenous vitamin C is not just antiviral but also useful in acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
He stated that flavonoids, which are plant chemicals found in almost all fruits and vegetables, have anti-oxidative, anti-inflammatory, anti-mutagenic, and anti-carcinogenic properties coupled with their capacity to modulate critical cellular enzyme function. He said that you should notice that almost all effective vitamins are found in plant-sourced foods but animal-sourced foods.
He said that Vitamin A levels over 300 IU's per liter in your blood are also effective against cancer prevention. Recent studies show that Vitamin A reduces morbidity and mortality and is effective against infectious diseases such as measles or measles-related pneumonia, etc. Vitamin D also has a similar mechanism against viral infections. Vitamin D alleviates lipopolysaccharide-induced acute injury by immunomodulatory and antioxidant mechanisms.

He said that the only real prevention is a healthy immune system. You can have Vitamin C intravenously one to three days, up to one week. This frequency depends on your needs. If you think you've been exposed and you're worried about your ability to fight the virus, or you can use it for prevention.
