Interdental Brushes - The New Way to Floss!

New studies are showing that Interdental brushes are more effective at cleaning plaque than floss!

Click below for full list of sources:

Dr. Joseph Nemeth thinks that the new paradigm in cleaning between the teeth is by using interdental cleaners such as the soft pick advanced, and proxy brushes.

Up until now, dental floss is what most people use. However, flossing can be a bit of a nuisance. Only 30% of people admit to flossing every day and 40% of people say that they never floss at all.

New studies are showing that flossing is not the most effective way to remove plaque between the teeth. The most effective way is by using these interproximal cleaners or interdental brushes

We have a full list of flossing alternatives here:

Interdental or interproximal brushes are easier to use and more effective than traditional dental floss.

How to Properly Floss Your Teeth by Hermosa Beach Dentist Dr. Mondavi

In order to properly maintain your dental health a patient should floss once daily. This video describes the proper way to floss your teeth to prevent decay and other dental issues. If a patient has already experienced significant damage due to decay a visit to a cosmetic dentist may be needed to restore teeth to a healthful looking state.

What causes noticable gap left between teeth after cleaning?-Dr. Sowmya Vijapure

Cleaning or scaling is a simple and painless dental procedure. In this procedure we use ultrasonic vibrating motors to remove the deposits of calculus and plaque from the tooth surface. Once the calculus starts forming, it pushes the gum tissues away from the tooth surface and this calculus starts forming in between and neck of the tooth like a collar and since calculus is removed at this stage, it is felt as a gap. This place was earlier occupied by the gum and a healthy bone tissue. So it is very important to get a cleaning done every 6 months so that this destruction of tissues is not much.
