SUMMARY
- Vision of snakes differs the most from ours – they sense thermal signatures. Due to the infrared-sensitive receptors on their snouts, some snakes can ‘see’ the radiated heat of warm-blooded mammals.
- Cows don’t see colors as clearly as human. You’ve probably never heard about this: they see the world in a red-orange color scheme.
- There is a blind spot where horses can’t see at all – directly in front of their faces. This is because of their eye location. Also, horses don't see as many colors as we do.
- Fish eyes have ultraviolet receptors and a more spherical lens than we have. They see the world in green, red, and blue colors, but can’t see red and blue. Deep sea fish can easily see in the dark.
- As for birds, they have something similar in their vision – unlike humans, birds can see ultraviolet light. Thanks to the structure of their eyes, they can focus on certain places.
- Flies have thousands of individual visual receptors that collectively create a broad field of vision. Also, they see the world in slow-motion and can see ultraviolet light.
Another insect, a bee, has an unusual vision as well. It's a surprising fact but bees can't distinguish red color at all! For them the color red appears to be dark blue.
- Rat vision is quite blurry, and they can’t see red. They also see the world in slow-motion. Each eye moves independently so they can have two images of the world.
- Cats don't distinguish red and green shades, and their world is made up of brown, yellow, and blue shades. The cat's field of view is broader than ours so they can see more on the sides.
-Dogs can’t see red and orange colors, but they clearly see blue and violet, as well as ultraviolet light. Moreover, they are able to differentiate between 40 shades of gray!
- Frogs can notice only moving objects. They can literally starve to death in the abundance of food if the food does not move! Frogs can also focus only on certain things, so they don’t concentrate on what they don’t need (for example, shadows).
- The eyes of chameleons can rotate in different directions independently, so they have a 360-degree field of vision. They see two images at the same time: one in the front and the other one behind.

LTE 20W LED Motion Sensor Floodlight Review

This is a review of the LTE 20 Watt LED Motion Sensor Floodlight.

First some specifications:
1. Worldwide voltage 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz.
2. 1500 Lumen, 6000K color temperature.
3. IP65 Rated, able to withstand splashes of water such as rain, when mounted under an eave. The motion sensor itself is IP44 waterproof.
4. Motion sensor detects movement out to about 25 feet. It has an approximate 120° range.
5. The light duration, after sensing motion, can be adjusted from 10 seconds up to 3 minutes.
6. You can also adjust the light sensitivity, you can have it work only at night, during the day, or at any brightness in between.

Testing at approximately 12 with my luxmeter, I measured approximately 15,000 lux. Real world testing, it lit up my garage quite well out to the door about 20 feet away.

Great floodlight, packed with features, super bright, all around a real winner!

How to Escape a Kidnapper as an Adult

Watch more Personal Security & Self-Defense videos:

Letting an abductor take you to a second location reduces your odds of getting out alive. Follow these steps to thwart them early.

Warning
Fighting back against an assailant is risky and could lead to injury.

Step 1: Make a fuss
Make a lot of noise. At the initial point of contact, your abductor's biggest fear is having attention called to them. Raise enough of a ruckus and they may end up running away from you.

Tip
Yelling FIRE is more effective at getting attention than yelling HELP.

Step 2: Fight back
Fight back however you can – kick, bite, claw, or punch. Research shows you have a better chance of escaping a weaponless attacker by resisting. It may even be worth the risk if they're brandishing a gun or knife, in order to prevent them taking you to a second location.

Tip
If they grab your arm, wave it up and behind you in a rapid windmill motion, which can break their grip.

Step 3: Escape a moving car
If the abductor gets you into a vehicle, try to jump out in a populated area where you can quickly get help. If you're locked in a trunk, feel around for a latch to release the lock, or find the wire connected to the taillights and yank it hard enough to cause them to go out, which may attract a police officer.

Step 4: Crash the car
If you're in the car and can't open a door to jump out, crash the car by yanking the steering wheel, or try to throw it into another gear. If your captor stops the car for any reason, jam something into the ignition so the car won't restart.

Step 5: Leave clues
Leave clues in the car, and wherever you're taken along the way – a piece of jewelry, a clump of your hair, a distinctive button. They could help police pinpoint your location.

Step 6: Observe your surroundings
If they bring you to another location, keep your eyes open for possible escape routes. Flip the lights on and off repeatedly if you can; cops may recognize that as a distress signal. Observe your captor's routine so you can gauge a good time to try to break free.

Tip
Ask to use the bathroom, and then jam a toilet with something. An overflowing toilet might provide the distraction you need to escape, or get someone else's attention.

Step 7: Call 911
If you manage to dial 911, leave the phone connected, and then get away from it. If you don't stay with the phone, the kidnapper might not notice it's been dialed, and this could buy enough time for the police to trace your location.

Step 8: Leave evidence
Try to claw your attacker so that, if the worst happens, their DNA will be under your fingernails.

Did You Know?
The majority of adult abductions are women who are taken by men they know, whether it's a partner, an ex, or an acquaintance.

SUMMARY:
- Obviously, you can’t be home 24/7. That’s why you need some extra eyes on your house for when you’re away. So, get on friendly terms with those who live around you.
- Showing off your costly stuff doesn’t do you any good. If anything, it only gives ideas to shady people.
- Your home could be a full-on fortress fit with high-end safety technology and state-of-the-art door and window locks. But if you carelessly left a ladder outside for the day, you could come back from work only to find that your house has been robbed.
- A flash of bright light in the dark of night may help you kill two birds with one stone. It’ll disorient the criminal for a few moments and give you a heads up that something’s going on in or around your house.
- If your lawn is unkempt, it’s a clear sign that nobody’s around to tend to it. Hire someone to do it for you while you’re away so that the wrong people don’t get the wrong idea.
- f your mailbox is brimming with newspapers, flyers, and other correspondence while you’re away, it also sends potential burglars a message that nobody’s been home for a while.
- You can share vacation plans with your trusted people, especially if you need them to check in on your house while you’re away, but social media is definitely a no-go.
- While burglars are more likely to break into a house from the first floor, they can see an opportunity in a tall-growing tree that looks right into a window on the second floor.
- This sounds pretty obvious, but you shouldn’t forget that burglars love silence. They prefer to go about their business quietly so that they don’t bring attention to themselves.
- A vast majority of burglaries are perpetrated by people who have been to your house before.
- If you leave a large pair of work boots on your porch, they’ll get a potential burglar thinking that there’s someone home at the moment.
- As much as you may love lavishness, you’d better at least keep it away from prying eyes. Burglars have a good eye for valuable items.
- Yes, that’s right, your garbage can tell potential robbers what to look for in your house. For example, if you throw away the box from a brand-new flat screen TV, they’ll know you have one.

7 Things You Shouldn't Do In an Automatic Transmission Car

Do you drive a car with an automatic transmission? 🚕 The interface of automatic vehicles is often simpler, and new drivers don't have to struggle with a seemingly unruly stick shift and clutch. But there are still some ways you can mess up your transmission. Here are 7 of the most dangerous mistakes you can make when driving an automatic! 📣

TIMESTAMPS:
Don't shift from drive to reverse before your car stops moving 1:06
Never put your car in park before it stops completely 1:55
Don't put it in neutral at stop lights 2:56
Don't coast in neutral 3:53
Never “launch” your car from a standstill 4:44
Avoid keeping the gas tank on low 5:48
Do not let water get in the transmission 6:31

#automatictransmission #drivinghacks #drivingtips

Music:

SUMMARY:
- If your brakes wear down, replacing them will cost you around $200. But by constantly shifting from drive to reverse while the car’s still rolling, get ready for damage that can run you at least $2,500.
- When you throw it in “park,” a pin locks the transmission output shaft, which connects it to the wheels of your car. But if the car’s still rolling when you do this, either the locking pin or the output shaft may break or become eroded.
- It's better to keep your car in drive than to switch it to neutral when stopped at a light. First of all, when your car’s in neutral, you don't have as much control over it. So if you need to make some emergency maneuver, you may not be able to execute it in time.
- Cars with automatic engines are designed in such a way that they save fuel even if the gear is in drive. They simply cut the fuel supply when you're going downhill.
- Plenty of drivers launch their cars all the time. This causes serious harm to the bands and clutches of the automatic transmission. When you shift, they use friction to move definite parts.
- Ignoring the low fuel light may eventually cost you much more than just filling your tank up, especially if your car has an automatic transmission.
- If water gets into the transmission, you're in big trouble. Even the smallest amount of water, just an ounce, can wreak havoc on your car’s transmission to the point that it needs replaced.

10 Signs Your House Is Being Watched by Robbers

How to know if your house is being watched by burglars? Many people protect their homes. Some choose alarms; others rely on strong doors with complex locks. Some go even further by installing security cameras, LED lights, smart locks, and high-tech security gadgets.

But even the most observant people don’t always notice that robbers have already started to watch their home and are waiting for the right moment to make a move. Pay attention to details that can be connected with theft, even if they seem trivial at first sight. In today’s video, we’ve prepared a list of signs that should help you stay alert.

TIMESTAMPS:
Missing garbage 1:24
The disappearance of your dog 2:20
An empty gas tank 3:06
A new janitor 3:57
A broken window 4:37
Problems with lights 5:22
Ads and stickers 6:03
Strange marks 7:24
Calls from unknown numbers 8:10
A broken lock 9:03

SUMMARY:
- You should make it a rule and a habit to always tear up papers with personal information into small pieces before throwing them away.
- Dogs guarding a house are a burden for robbers. That’s why they may try to get rid of the “guardian” by drawing it outside when the owners are not at home.
- To prevent their potential victims from coming home earlier, robbers may drain the gasoline from their car. In the worst-case scenario, you won’t be able to get to a gas station, which means you’ll get back home even later.
- If you use the services of a cleaning company and you always see the same worker, the appearance of a new cleaner should worry you. Be extra cautious if the company itself didn’t inform you of the change in personnel.
- Some criminals may throw stones at a car or house window to check if the owners are at home and whether the alarm works.
- If you live in a private house and there are lanterns with motion sensors installed in your yard, check them immediately if they appear to be malfunctioning.
- Commercial flyers are annoying pieces of trash, but little did you know that they can be used against you. Robbers mark easily accessible homes with the help of commercial flyers and simple stickers.
- Erase any suspicious marks that appear on the door of your home, on garden lanterns, or simply near your home.
- To find out at what time the owners of a home are absent, robbers call the home phone and drop a call. If a small child picks up the phone, robbers can try to get some information from them.
- A malfunctioning lock or scratches on a door are signs that somebody has tried to get into your house. Take action right away!

LED Motion Sensor Lights as a Crime Deterrent

LED motion sensor lights are a great way to prevent crime. This LED fixture has 3 aimable light heads that emit powerful illumination for security lighting and safety lighting above garages, in alleyways and stairways, on building entrances, and under eaves or carports.

A centrally placed, aimable PIR (passive-infrared) sensor activates all light heads if motion is detected within an adjustable range of up to 70', and a built-in timer allows the lights to remain on for 1, 5, or 10 minutes. The LED fixture is also equipped with a dusk-to-dawn photocell sensor to ensure that the fixture will only illuminate at night. It can be set to power on the fixture when motion is detected or to remain on constantly throughout the night.
